On September 26-29, a delegation from Paula Stradins University Hospital visited Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University as part of the Development of the Medical Educational Process and Capacity Building project.

The project's objective was to enhance the capabilities of the administrative and academic staff at the Faculty of Medicine of Tbilisi State University (TSU) through qualification improvement, experience sharing, and knowledge transfer, with a specific focus on digitalization. Additionally, the project aimed to contribute to the development of civil society by encouraging the participation of young doctors.

On the first day, an introductory meeting was conducted where participants introduced themselves and familiarized themselves with each other's activities. Subsequent sessions covered diverse topics. The Head of Public Relations at Pauls Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital in Latvia delivered a lecture on burnout and emotional intelligence, providing practical exercises to prevent burnout to both students and administrators.

The following lecture addressed the project's feasibility, with the speaker (J. Stare) guiding students through the necessary steps for its development and effective implementation. Professor A. Reins' presentation on the digital laboratory generated significant interest among students, who were thoroughly briefed on the possibilities in this field.

An essential and relevant lecture focused on misinformation in the medical field, especially poignant during the COVID-19 pandemic. Latvian colleagues shared strategies with administrators and students to prevent the spread of misinformation. The overarching aim of the project was to enhance the quality of medical education at Tbilisi State University, with far-reaching impacts on both the university's activities and society at large.

The meetings and training sessions held from September 26-29 with the administrative staff, academic staff, and students of the Faculty of Medicine at TSU were deemed informative and fruitful. It is worth noting that the project is financially supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia.
